As Viasat1 launches live EPL telecast, it makes history by becoming the only channel in Ghana to air the most prestigious football league in the world for free!
This is good news to all football lovers in Ghana. Viasat1 G Broadcasting Limited has finally launched its coverage of the 2016/17 EPL season. The Channel has been granted a sub-license to exclusively air the upcoming 2016/17 season of the English Premier League in Ghana on free-TV.
The official launch which took place on Wednesday night was graced by many sports personalities across the country, including former Black Stars player Augustine Ahinful, Coach De-Graft Johnson. Also at the event were sports media personalities such as; Joseph Hanson of Sports Xtra, Nutifafa Attah of Football 360, Henry Asante Twum, Umar Farouk, Daniel Oduro, Nathaniel Attoh, Fiifi Anaman, and many other notable personalities.
The British High Commission who is also a sports lover, congratulated the station in a video message, for securing the rights. The known West Ham Fan in his message, also congratulated Andrew Ayew for sealing his move to the club.
In his speech, the acting Chief Executive Officer, Richmond Sey expressed his excitement over their newly achieved feat. He also reiterated how committed the Viasat1 team were in bringing live matches to Ghanaians in the comfort of their homes.
The live cast which kicks off this Saturday August 13, is scheduled for every Saturday at 1400 GMT, up to the season finale in May 2017. Furthermore, Viasat1 will telecast a highlights show on Mondays at 4:00 pm, which would capture all matches played during the week. The station will also air a pre-match analysis of upcoming games at 4:00 pm on Fridays.
