The long awaited Ghana Must Go movie was screened in Nigeria yesterday May 18 at The FilmHouse Cinemas, Surulere, Lagos. The movie produced by award-winning Ghanaian/Nigerian actress, Yvonne Okoro is set for release in Nigeria on the 10th of June, 2016.
The movie was screened by Desamour Production Company making it the second feature movie from the company after their Box Office Smash in 2012 with the movie titled ‘Contract’.
Ghana Must Go’ was earlier released in 2016 and has already enjoyed box office success in Ghana. The Nigerian Premiere is set for Friday 3rd June 2016 in Lagos, Nigeria.
‘Ghana Must Go’ was directed by multiple award-winning film-maker, Frank Rajah Arase. The movie stars Yvonne Okoro, Kofi Adjorlolo, Ik Ogbonna, Blossom Chukwujekwu, Helen Paul, Ada Ameh and Nkem Owoh (popularly known as Osuofia).
Set in Accra, Ghana, the comedy revolves around two young lovers who are of Nigerian and Ghanaian origin. Yvonne Okoro plays the role of Ama, a London-based Ghanaian woman who brings her Nigerian boyfriend, Chuks (Blossom Chukwujekwu), home to meet her parents much to the displeasure of her wealthy father.
Ama’s parents especially her father refused to give their blessing to their union, citing historical happenings between the neighbouring nations as reason for their refusal. The series of events tests the love of the young couple in the most hilarious and unexpected fashion.
This movie is surely a must see for everyone. According to Yvonne Okoro it is a movie which revolves around Nigeria and Ghana. Nigerians whom have waited so long for the release of the movie, are waiting in anticipation for the official release.
