Bring Out Other Alternatives Instead of Picking On Mahama’s Mistakes – NDC MP To NPP

Member of Parliament for Agona East in the Central Region, Queenstar Pokua Sawyerr has lambasted the Opposition New Patriotic Party condemning their obvious method of electioneering which has always been to criticize the president’s shortcomings. Queenstar Pokua Sawyerr challenged the NPP to come up with better alternatives and innovative ideas to build the nation rather than relying on the mistakes of the ruling party.

The NPP since the start of campaigns for the upcoming November polls has always found delight in attacking the incumbent president anytime they find the opportunity.

According to her, it is unscrupulous for any political party aspiring for power to rely on the lapses of the President to win the hearts of the people by incessantly criticizing, especially when they are not ready to provide any useful alternatives.

Queenstar Pokua Sawyerr made these statements while speaking on behalf of the president at the President’s party for the disabled at Agona East in the Central Region. Her words:

“If NPP has any alternatives, they should bring it out right now. They should not wait to hammer so much on the failings of President John Mahama. The president is only human. Definitely he will make mistakes. Every President makes mistakes. During the period of John Agyekum Kufuor, we had Kufuor gallons; shortage of water. If it is president Mahama and there are petty mistakes, it shouldn’t be a big issue”, she fumed.

The Deputy Central Regional Minister at the feast which hosted over 10,000 people living with disabilities in the Central region further asked for seriousness and thoughtfulness on the part of the voters as the nation decides who governs the country in the November polls. She stressed the need for unity and solidarity to help provide solutions to the country’s problems.

“Ghana will not burn. The elections are going to be peaceful. We can only play our part to ensure that fairness and firmness become the driving principle towards this election. I am calling for a campaign of issues to avoid confrontations that can dent the credibility of the polls,”Queenstar Pokua added.

The feast was part of President Mahama’s Easter package for the disabled in the region. They were treated with food and drinks and at the end, clutches, wheel chairs and food items where given out to them as take home souvenirs.
