The New Patriotic Party (NPP) flag bearer, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo will be presenting a state-of-affair address, which he titled: ‘Real State of the Nation’ on Monday, February 29.
Nana Addo made the announcement through his twitter page on Friday.
“I’m inviting you to join me as I present ‘The Real State of the Nation,” the tweet read.
The venue of the his presentation will be at the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons by 10:00am.
President John Dramani Mahama also delivered what seem to be his last state of the nation address for his first four-year tenure, on Thursday February 26, where recounted his major achievements in government especially in the health sector, education and energy.
An address which was criticized by the opposition New Patriotic Party, describing it as “the most disappointing Nations Address ever heard”
As the potential Presidential candidate of the NPP, Nana Addo hope to win more voters to his side with his usual catchphrase, “try me too” in order to achieve his childhood dream of becoming president.
“This year try me too. Give me the chance to show you want I can do. Four year is not so far away. If I come and I don’t succeed, kick me out. God knows my heart and I can assure you that I disappoint you.”
But the presidential candidate of the NPP doesn’t seem to be getting much support and bolster from his own party. According to report, the bigwigs of NPP are worried that Nana Addo’s “I can do it alone” attitude have made a lot of party gurus and financiers unwilling to contribute their quota.
“Lack of respect for the view points of others in the party is very worrying. When you are in a party and accept the fact that it is made up of all manner of people, not all of them will share your view.”
