President Mahama admonished Ghanainas to work hard to create wealth for themselves because, no president will put money in their pockets literally
President John Mahama wants Ghanaians to imbibe the habit of hard work. For this reason he has promised that his government will create platforms that will enable citizens to acquire skills that will guarantee their employment to create wealth. According to him, no president will put money in their pocket, but can only create the atmosphere for them to make money.
Mahama said this on Wednesday, while addressing supporters at a political rally in the Hohoe constituency as part of his Volta Regional campaign tour. The President stated that citizens should work to earn their money, and not just fold their hands in expectation that government will literally put money in their pockets.
“The only way you can put money in your pocket is to work for it,” he said.
Mahama also quoted a section in the Bible, where it was stated that man should work hard in other to feed himself. Having said that, Mahama refrained from promising money to Ghanaians; instead, he said that his government if given a second term to serve, will establish skill acquisition platforms. He continued that his government will also ensure that the people possess the needed skills to gain employment and create wealth for themselves.
President Mahama had earlier said during one of his tours, that if given the nod, his government will bring about a better economy that will have a positive impact in the pockets of Ghanaians. This was in February 2016, at the inauguration of one of the Community Day Senior High Schools at Kwaobaah Nyanoa, in the Eastern Region.
