From her interview with Kasapa FM, it can be deduced that gospel singer Selina Boateng supports sex before marriage. She has also explained the context of her comments.
Popular Gospel singer Selina Boateng has revealed she is not against couples who choose to taste the forbidden fruit before marriage, in a recent interview. According to the gospel singer, though the Christain doctrine condemns sex before marriage, she will not condemn those who practice it.
Speaking on ‘Pae Mu Kae’, a segment on Kasapa Entertainment on Kasapa 102.5FM, Selina Boateng supports sex before marriage, saying she has no problem when non-Christians engage in the act.
In her words, non-believers (a lady and young man) who want to settle down as husband and wife “like to ‘taste’ it before they marry”. She explained the reason to be that it is sometimes embarrassing that after they marry, some ladies sometimes get to know that the man’s manhood is small and can’t deliver as expected.
When asked if she was in a relationship, the singer said she is a relationship though as Christians, they call it courtship. She also explained that it is important for a couple to court before marriage, because it makes it easier for them to settle differences in their marriage when such arises.
Her comments however, have attracted lots of criticisms from a section of the public who have deemed them inappropriate. A member of the National Democratic Party (NDC) Michael Ola, has lambasted the singer for endorsing sex before marriage.
Mr Michael Ola to express his dissatisfaction with Selina’s comment, took to Facebook to slam the gospel singer. In his post, he lamented the singer’s need for repentance because such a statement from a Gospel musician is very disappointing. He pointed out that Selena is probably enjoying sex as a single woman, which is why she made such comments. He further advised her against preaching for the devil, because it is against God’s will to defile one’s body.
