If eventually, Shatta Wale breaks world record with his recent performance, it simply means that other dance hall artistes really need to step up their game
Has the dance hall king broken a world record with his out of the world performance on the SallaFest night? Though not yet confirmed, one thing is certain; his show dubbed “Shatta Live at Nima” will forever be remembered in the Ghanaian music industry.
Shatta Wale gave a whirlwind performance on stage while it rained cats and dogs at Nima on Saturday, July 23. We all know Shatta to be a showstopper who is loved by many, but the recent development which has caught our attention is that of the ‘record breaking’.
According to reports, the ‘kakai’ hitmaker performed 118 songs on Sallafest night, breaking a world record, as no artiste has ever performed such number of songs in a row. Not minding the initial hitches experienced by Shatta Movement regarding the date scheduled for the concert, the SM gad still pulled a mind blowing crowd as usual.
Shatta Wale’s concert was initially scheduled for 6th July during the Eid holiday. But the date clashed with VVIP’s Sallah concert, which was also scheduled the same day. Shatta whose concert was part of his peace campaign, cancelled and shifted his own concert to July 23.
To give his fans the satisfaction needed, Shatta went haywire on stage, performing his very many hit tracks. Also, according to reports, Shatta was supposed to perform 150 tracks that day, but he ended up performing 118. Some reports have said it was due to the heavy rains said to have affected sound quality. So far, there has been no record of such electrifying performance in Ghana.
