‘Don’t Waste Your Votes On NDC And NPP’ Mornah Tells Ghanaian Youths

Here’s another twist in the ongoing campaign. The Peoples National Convention (PNC) in one of their campaigns, have admonished youths to resist the diplomacies of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP). This was stated by the party’s General Secretary, Bernard Mornah. He said that the aforementioned parties are only exploiting the youths of the country as none of them has plans of empowering the youths in any way.

Speaking on behalf of the PNC, Mornah urged the youths to support the PNC candidate, Dr. Edward Mahama during the elections as he has good plans for youth empowerment. He described Dr. Edward Mahama as a farsighted leader who brought up the idea of the National Health Insurance Scheme and equally the School Feeding Programme, among others, which are being badly implemented by the government.

He said that while casting their votes, the youths of the nation needed to look at the unemployment situation among the themselves, farmers who are unable to feed their families, parents unable to pay their children’s school fees and retirees incapable of holding briefs for their families among others, which are all part of the deficiencies of the current government.

“There is no more time to waste on the NDC and the NPP because they have only proved over the years that talk is cheap”, he said.

Mr Mornah continued that the PNC understands and has all it takes ranging from youths dynamism, experience, and more.

“A a youthful team fused with the wisdom and experience of the presidential candidate and the fathers of the party, that is what you need to integrate the youth genuinely and practically as part owners in the socio-economic transformation processes,”  he added.

Although their popularity cannot be compared to that of the NDC and NPP, the PNC can be said to be die-hard contenders. The PNC has contested all national elections since the inception of the fourth republic apart from the 1992 Ghanaian Parliamentary election. In view of the November elections, their flag bearer Dr. Edward Mahama had introduced some catchy strategic campaign messages Titled New Beginning’, ‘New Ideas’ and ‘New Force’ to Ghanaians, to maintain peace before, during and after the elections. In this, the plans of the PNC for the youths and Ghana at large were emphasized, stating policies and programmes that the PNC government would seek to actualize if voted into power in the 2016 general elections
