John Dumelo Appointed Ghana’s Tourism Ambassador

According to reports, he has been seen projecting the country’s image to countries he has been visiting, so the Ministry of Tourism thought it wise to make him the Tourism Ambassador for Ghana.

Award winning actor John Dumelo has added a feather to his cap, as he has been made Ghana’s ambassador for Tourism. John Dumelo who had also revealed his ambition to contest for Presidency in future, has been travelling round the continent and meeting with high dignitaries in what seems to be a political tour. According to reports, he has been seen projecting the country’s image to countries he has been visiting. This could be why the Ministry of Tourism thought it wise to make him the country’s tourism ambassador.

The delighted Dumelo, took his Instagram page and posted a picture of himself and the Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Hon. Elizabeth Ofosu-Agyare with the caption;

Happy to be appointed tourism ambassador by the Minister of tourism. I’m happy to promote Tourism in Ghana and also sell Ghana to the rest of the world.#exploreghana #melomoment #melotourist.

There have been rumours of the actor’s appointment being politically motivated. This was made known as some speculations suggested that it was not based on merit. It has equally been rumoured that the actor got the appointment due to his association with the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) party.

However, all that seem to be insignificant to Dumelo as he has shown he is ready to take up the task. Also, a few days ago, he shared a photo he took with Liberia’s Vice-President-Joseph Boakai, suggesting that he met the Liberian leader to discuss certain national issues. Since the meeting was a private one, nothing could be made out of it from the outside, leaving the public wondering what it was about

The only thing which could be made out of his visits to other countries is that which has to do with promoting the country’s image which has in turn culminated to this very achievement.

This has eventually trashed earlier speculations that the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts has intentions of making Abraham Attah, the 14 year-old Ghanaian actor, Tourism Ambassador for Ghana.
