Kumawood actress and gospel musician, Mercy Asiedu has threatened to curse anybody who claims she has taken money to campaign for the ruling NDC government ahead of this year’s general election.
Speaking in an interview on Kessben FM in Kumasi, the actress denied allegation that she had taken cash from the National Democratic Congress.
People just want to give me problem that is why they have created this false story. I want those spreading the falsehood to understand that I’m Ghana’s property. I don’t want to affiliate myself with any political party. All I know is serving Ghanaians. Whoever Ghanaians choose as their president is also my father. Nobody has called to give me money.
According to her, the fact that Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Mrs. Elizabeth Ofosu-Agyare calls her often for discussion about the industry does not mean she is an NDC loyalist.
She disclosed to DJ Roar on the Kumasi-based radio station, that the minister only called her to organise a meeting that will grant her opportunity to meet people in the creative arts industry, which she did. She added that she was never paid to do that.
Irate Mercy Asiedu challenged anyone who has seen her receiving money from NDC to come out with facts. She further questioned in her fury, why people like disgracing others, adding that its the sole reason why cursing is an endless phenomenon.
The infuriated actress finished up by re-emphasizing that she will curse anyone who continues to spread this falsehood.
