Ghana midfielder, Michael Essien has received an award for his stunning goal for Panathinaikos against Levadiakos in a 2-0 win two weeks ago.
His goal which was tagged a ‘screamer’ eventually emerged the best goal of the month after a thorough assessment by the Panhellenic Association Paid Footballers (PSAP).
The Ghanaian international who officially received his accolade yesterday, being Thursday expressed his delight and promised to deliver more of such goals for his Club.
For the award and the fact that I scored a beautiful goal in Livadia, ‘ he said.
Not scoring many goals, but when I do I make sure is good! I’m happy that I won this award and I hope to offer many more to Panathinaikos.’
The former Chelsea midfielder has made 10 appearances for the Greens since he joined from AC Milan.
Michael Essien is a 33 year-old Ghanaian footballer who plays for Panathinaikos and the Ghana National Team. He is a midfielder who has often been touted as a box-to-box midfielder. This is because of his ability to exert energy in supporting offensive and defensive play and for his tough tackling style which has earned him the nickname “The Bison”. Essien can also play as a defender, both on the right of defence and in the centre.
