Mahama: Nana Addo not yet President but carries himself about as one…
President Mahama has asked the Flagbearer of New Patriotic Party (NPP) Nana Akufo-Addo, to stop acting like he is already the President elect of Ghana. The President said that the NPP Flagbearer acts on the presumption that he (Nana Addo) has won the 2016 presidential elections.
Mahama said this while speaking at a mini rally at Ayirebi, in the Ofoase-Ayirebi constituency of the Eastern region. During his address, Mahama said that God is the only one who ordains a leader. Wondering why Nana Addo already poses himself as a president, Mahama noted that it can only be possible if God has ordained it.
If God says he won’t make you a President, you can move heaven and earth you will still not be President, he said.
President Mahama revealed that his prayer ahead of the polls, has been for God’s will to be done. Mahama explained that though Nana Addo poses as President, the winner of the 2016 elections is already known by God who has ordained the person.
Mahama in his address, also promised the people he will build an ultra-modern hospital for the community if he is given the nod, come December.
The NPP’s confidence has been boosted in the past few weeks following massive patronage and support the party has received during her recent campaign tours. This was evident during Nana Addo’s tour of Ashanti and Volta regions, where he garnered tons of endorsements from traditional chiefs.
The third time presidential aspirant has also gone biblical in the course of his campaign. During the NPP’s manifesto launch in Accra on October 9, Nana Addo was heard likening this year’s elections to a popular story in the Bible. The NPP Flagbearer had said that although Mahama comes like Goliath, he (Nana Addo) will defeat him like David.
