Ghanaian Dance hall artiste, Charles Nii Armah Mensah, popularly known as Shatta Wale will be storming the Capital City of the United States of America – New York, with a campaign for his latest album After The Storm. Shatta Wale’s After The Storm US tour was announced by the SM leader himself, via his official Facebook page.
The concert which is being organised by LVC Entertainment, Boogie Down Nima, and TM Entertainment will be taking place at the PlayStation Theatre, NYC, on 1st July, 2017. According to a member of the Shatta Movement, the New York concert is aimed at providing an opportunity for the SM President to develop a closer acquaintance with his fans in the diaspora.
Following Shatta Wale’s After The Storm US tour in New York, will be that of Massachusetts to be held at the Hanover Theater on July 8th.
Meanwhile, Shatta will first be performing at the oncoming Ghana Meets Naija Concert to be held on May 27 at the Accra International Conference Centre. The Dance Hall King together with other A-list Ghanaian musicians are expected to face-off with popular Nigerian music stars such as Tiwa Savage, Davido, Falz and others.
Shatta Wale has been making unparalleled waves in Ghana’s music industry, especially with his latest album, After The Storm. Released since April, 2016, Shatta Wale’s After The Storm include ‘Mahama Paper’, ‘Hol’it’, ‘Baby Chop Kiss’, ‘Kakai’, ‘Dance Hall King’, among many others; songs which rank among the most popular in the country right now.
The album launch which was held at the Black Star Square last year was adjudged the biggest ever in the history of Ghanaian music, having witnessed a crowd of about 50, 000. Most of the songs from the album were heavily used by Ghanaian politicians of various parties during their campaigns ahead of the 2016 elections, with both Nana Addo and Mahama identifying with him.
Charles Nii Mensah’s talent in music has won him numerous awards which include 2014 GN Bank Awards Most Popular Artiste, 2015 VGMA Artiste of the Year, Best African Act at the 2014 and 2016 Nigerian Entertainment Awards, among many others.
This year (2017), he has also released a hit song ‘Taking Over’, featuring SM newly signed trio – Addi Self, Joint 77 and Captan. With this upcoming US tour, the dance hall artiste is proving to be unstoppable.
