X Factor UK 2015 Finalist Reggie & Bollie have revealed that they will be shooting the video for their debut single in Ghana when they make the return to their country on Tuesday 26th April 2015, after almost seven years of being away.
Reggie & Bollie before now had quite a successful music career in Ghana, but for some reasons the duo were quiet for some years with no new release. But thanks to X Factor UK platform, the duo were thrust back into the limelight and they are better now than they’ve ever been.
Their amazing performances throughout the X Factor 2015 won them the hearts of many fans in the UK as well as in their motherland, Ghana. Although they did not emerge the winner as they lost to another singer Louisa Johnson, it didn’t stop judge Simon Cowell from signing them unto his Syco Music label which also manages top artists like Zayn Malik of One Direction.
With regards to the location for the shoot of their upcoming music video, they duo had Barbados and Brazil to chose from and while many would’ve without second thought opted for those which would’ve further boosted their fanbase, Reggie & Bollie chose Ghana instead. They duo said they chose their motherland because they want to project Ghana’s cultural values and tourists sites to the rest of the world. In their words they said;
We were happy to choose Ghana because we saw it as a platform to sell our culture through this video. So it’s all about selling the cultural value of Ghana and where we come from.
The duo also expressed their enthusiasm to return to their home country which they’ve been away from for almost six years. They said;
It’s something that we are really happy about and we can’t wait to come to Ghana and connect with our fans and shoot this video. It is going to air across the world for people to see what Ghana is about.
The duo have chosen to conceal the title of their post-x factor debut single saying that it will be made known when they arrive in their home country. However they revealed that;
It’s going to be a danceable, catchy tune. I think people from all over the world are going to love this song; it’s a song that cuts across. We’ve got elements of afro beats and pop. It’s just a mixture of everything and hopefully, it gets everyone dancing.
So get your dancing shoes on. Also, they revealed they would be in Ghana for four days and that the video would be directed by the renowned Fatal who have directed videos for international artists like Meek Mill, Kanye West, Davido and D’banj.
